The Mare's Leg is the name given to a customized shortened
rifle used by Steve McQueen's character on the television series
Truckdown & Dead or Alive.
Designed by Kenny "Von Dutch" Howard, an experienced artist
and gunsmith.
The original Mare's Leg was made by cutting down a .44-40
caliber Winchester Model 1892 rifle to a size that could be worn
in a large leg holster and used with one hand.
The barrel was cut to a length of nine inches and much of the
butt-stock was removed.
The original Mare's Leg did not have sights.
McQueen was involved in the final design, suggesting the duck-bill
hammer and enlarged lever loop, and initiating a redesign
of the custom holster.
Full wood & metal.
Lever action a colpo singolo.
Hop up regolabile.
Serbatoio (caricatore) da 22bb.
Inner Barrel: 210mm.
Lunghezza: 500mm.
Peso: 1810gr.

The Winchester 1873 was not the first lever action weapon but
it is the most famed for its extensive use during the late 19th
century in the Americas as a general purpose defensive,
hunting and combat rifle. The Randall was its less common
more compact form which saw some use in the wild west but a
lot more on the silver screen (i.e. Silverado, Rough Riders,
Wild Wild West, The Last Samurai, Serenity and not to mention
countless Westerns from the 30s to 50s).

This shorter length version is petite 50cm and at a
fairly lightweight approximate of 1.8kg. it is handles like
a (very) large pistol. Its tough lever action pull strength can make
it tricky to use in full combat loading style but it works and its
reliable so it has that working in its favor.
