About the REAL 1911
Created by John Moses Browning, it is particularly sturdy and
reliable every since its very first version. It was updated in
1926 becoming the M1911A1. Argentina became the first
foreign user of the M1911A1 in the shape of the Colt 1927.
The differences between the M1911 and 1911A1 are mainly
based on the shape of the hammer (simplified hammer pin),
a drilling on the back shell bridge in order to make the index
finger access to the trigger easier (for the same reason the
trigger was shorten), the location of the hammer spring was
curved as well as checkered even strié (in order to allow a
more precise shooting because some people would shoot to
low), the front sight was increased and given an inclined back,
the wraparound grips were simplified and replaced by plastic
(orginally wood), the coloring was replaced by a bonderizing
(phosphating), the beaver tail (back security) was increased in
order for the shooter to avoidtheir skin getting stuck between
this part of the gun and the hammer pin. Most of these
differences were given due to rate of return reasons that a huge
war production required. Without any further explanation being
required, the 1911 is a rare collection piece of a more detailed
and cared creation.
